The setting is stunning farmland! The restaurant was built with reclaimed wood and is rustic, yet elegant. It is off the beaten path, nestled down a little country road. It may even be one of my favorite restaurants in the entire state! In fact, Artisanal has been named a Top 100 Restaurant in the entire United States by Open Table and has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence!Īrtisanal is an upscale, fully farm to table restaurant. Okay, I may have told a little fib… this is my absolute favorite restaurant in Banner Elk. I’ll begin the list with my top five in Banner Elk (in no particular order because it’s so hard to choose), and work my way down to my bottom five, again, in no particular order… but even my bottom five are still really good! So, if you don’t see the name of one you’re thinking of trying, there’s only one reason it’s not here… we’ve tried it and were not happy. In fact, we’ve eaten at every Banner Elk restaurant. We’ve eaten at each and every one of the Banner Elk restaurants below, and have enjoyed each one immensely. What amazes me about Banner Elk is the amount of fantastic restaurants in and around this tiny little town, including one that is on top of our list for best restaurants in the country! Where to Eat Just Outside of Banner Elkīanner Elk is a tiny little town in the mountains of North Carolina with a population of maybe 1,000.
